  23. I set my dte to 115200 with my A1200 50Mhz '030 '882 8megs of fast.
  24. I do not have any maor problems.
  25. However, I think there are things that enable you to set the dte that fast.
  26. Like running:
  27.   Setcpu (with the fastrom option)
  28.   exept49.lha (exec patch)
  29.   8n1.device, artser.device, baudbandit.device (pick one)
  30.   executive (task schedular, can speed things up.)
  31.   vbrmove

  33. If you are having some problems with data overruns then
  34. gvptch17.lha can help.

  36. Last I heard the Sportster did not have a flash rom so make
  37. sure to keep fairly current on the rom in your sportster.

  39. How about looking into getting a surf squirrel.

  41. Getting a faster cpu could not hurt.

  43. Change the dte rate to a rate that both sending and receiving modems
  44. can support.  I never set the dte rate to 115200 unless I am connecting to
  45. a 288 modem.  If I am going to connect to a 144 modem I set the dte rate
  46. to 57600 or 38400.  I have even set the dte lower to get reliable
  47. connections/transmissions to 144 modems.
